Benitez turnover set

Rep. Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez will turn over the reins of the third district of Negros Occidental to his younger brother, incoming Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, 5 p.m. Thursday.

The turnover rites that will be held at the Victorias Coliseum in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, will be attended by governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson, and officials of the third district led by their mayors.

The outgoing congressman will deliver a state of the district address, afterwhich his brother will take his oath as the new congressman of the district.

The mayors of the third district of Negros Occidental are Francis Palanca of Victorias City, Marvin Malacon of EB Magalona, Mark Golez of Silay City, Neil Lizares of Talisay City, and Victor Gerardo Rojas of Murcia.*
