Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday reiterated that he will support Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) in whatever position he runs for in 2019.

“It is up to Albee to decide” if he will run for governor of Negros Occidental or for senator, Marañon said, in reaction to support aired by the mayors of the third district for Benitez for governor.

Should Benitez opt to run for governor, Marañon said it will also be up to the congressman to choose his vice governor.

The governor also lauded the Asenso Metro 3 rd Burial Assistance Program of Benitez that will give P10,000 in aid to indigent families in the third district of Negros Occidental for the burial of their kin.

“That is good…I hope every congressman will adopt that program also,” the governor said.

Benitez, in answer to the mayors of the third district of Negros Occidental and AbangLingkod Rep. Stephen Paduano'sstatements of support for whatever he opts to run for in 2019, on Monday said he is “weighing all options”.*CPG
