Nikki Cares Surgical Mission Pre-screening

More than 500 residents of the Third District of Negros Occidental, all with medical conditions like hernia, gallstones, goiter, polyp, cyst and the like that may require surgery underwent pre-screening last October 13, 2017 for the Nikki Cares Surgical Mission slated November 23 to 26, 2017 at the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Dominique “Nikki” Lopez Benitez, wife of Congressman Alfredo Benitez, organized the surgical mission with the assistance of the Makati Medical Center surgeons who volunteered their free services. The project is supported by Silay City Government through Mayor Mark Golez, Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital through Chief of Hospital Dr. Girlie Pinongan, Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation through Executive Director Mary Ann Diño and the District Office of Congressman Benitez.

The prospective surgical patients came from the cities of Silay, Talisay and Victorias, and the municipalities of Murcia and EB Magalona.

The surgeons from Makati Medical Center who conducted the pre-screening were Dr. Erwin Dizon, Dr. Natividad Soler, Dr. Fe Villarfria, Dr. Joaquin Manalastas, Dr. Darryl Santiago, and Dr. Michele Angela Meer Anievas.*
