Pag-Ibig CEO backs creation of human settlement departm
December 15, 2018
PAG-IBIG Fund chief executive officer (CEO) Acmad Rizaldy Moti is supporting the move to create the Department of Settlement and Urban Development to address the housing problem in the country.
Moti said the creation of the new department will soon become a law.
The bill in the House is authored by Negros Occidental Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez while its counterpart bill at the Senate was authored by Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito.
“Pag-Ibig Fund will be an attached agency of the said department and it’s long overdue, as we need one department that only focused on providing housing in the country,” Moti pointed out.
He said Pag-Ibig Fund can only handle the members but for non-members, they really needed the new department.
Moti was in the province Thursday, December 13, for a briefing with the mayors about the Countryside Housing Initiative Project of Pag-Ibig.
“We would like to offer the services of Pag-Ibig Fund to all the local government units starting with Negros Occidental. One of the commitments that I have given to the President is we will bring the housing solutions available in the metropolis area to the countryside. We offer housing units that are 30 percent affordable than what is available in the market,” Moti said.
In 2019, P85 billion is allocated for the project, he added. (TDE)
