Negros Daily Bulletin: NHA conducts orientation on Yolanda Resettlement Sites in 3rd district

Beneficiaries or awardees of the Yolanda Housing are prohibited to sell, encumber, mortgage, lease, sublet, alter or dispose the lot/lot with housing unit, or rights and interest, in part or in whole, within 20 years from the issuance of the title.

This was underscored by Jasmin Beloya of the National Housing Authority-Bacolod during the recently held orientation sessions in the Third District of Negros Occidental for the disposition of Yolanda permanent housing units. The conditions are contained in NHA Memorandum Circular 2018-004.
<--break-->A total of 5,481 Yolanda permanent housing units are to be turned over to qualified beneficiaries in the Third District .
For Silay City, 1,992 housing units located in Barangay E. Lopez are being readied for turned over, including the multi-purpose covered court with training center, and open spaces for community facilities.
There are 1,168 housing units for turn over in Barangay Sto. Niño in E.B. Magalona.
The Silay City orientation was held June 26 at the Kansilayan Gym annex building, with Mayor Mark Golez heading the LGU stakeholders composed of the Housing Office head and staff, City Planning and Development Office, City Legal Office, Philippine National Police, City Health Office, City Engineers Office, Office of the Building Official, and the Department of Education.
Also present were other officials from NHA-Central and Bacolod Offices, the contractor’s staff, representatives of civil society groups namely, Silay Federation of Homeowners Association and Couples for Christ-Gawad Kalinga. Utility companies Silay City Water District and Central Negros Electric Cooperative were also invited to the orientation..
Executive Assistant Atty. Leani Jison, Silay SP Committee on Housing Chair Linda Caja, and Third District Coordinator on Housing Concerns Marie June Castro representing Cong. Alfredo Benitez, also attended the NHA Orientation.
During the same orientation, Engr. Mary Grace Alderite explained MC 2018-005 which outlines what will be turned over by NHA to the Local Government Unit and the documents that need to be complied before the project will be turned over to the LGU.
A similar orientation was also held in E.B. Magalona last June 28 at the Mayor’s Conference Room, attended by Mayor Marvin Malacon, municipal councilors and government department heads, including the Municipal Planning and Development Office which is also the designated Housing Office.
Aside from open spaces for community facilities, a similar covered court with training center will also be constructed in the E.B. Magalona Yolanda Resettlement Site.
The Yolanda Resettlement Site in Victorias City has 2,321 housing Units, and the NHA orientation will be held Today )July 3).
According to Engr. Alejandro Ongsuco, NHA Bacolod Area Manager, there are 27,055 Yolanda permanent housing units in Negros Occidental which are all constructed in Northern Negros, of which 5,481 units are in the three LGUs of the 3rd District.*
