Rep. Albee Benitez, together with Rep. Winston "Winnie" Castelo and Coun. Precious Hipolito-Castelo, visited Barangay Commonwealth for a dialogue with leaders and members of the SAMA-SAMA (Samahang Maralita Para Sa Makataong Paninirahan) Federation representing families affected by the National Government Center project along Commonwealth Avenue.

Rep. Benitez underscored the need to use government lands for housing purposes to address the long-standing problem of insecurity of land tenure and adequate housing of informal settler families.

He stressed the importance of "Bahayanihan: Bayanihan para sa Marangal na Pabahay" or the concerted efforts of all stakeholders to provide affordable and adequate housing for poor and low-income Filipino families.

Rep. Albee Benitez joined Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Winston "Winnie" Castelo and Coun. Precious Hipolito-Castelo in distributing relief goods to families in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, who were affected by the closure of the Payatas dumpsite. Rep. Benitez stressed the need for a comprehensive in-city housing program that will provide affordable and adequate housing for informal settler families and that includes sustainable livelihood support.
