Rep. Albee Benitez met with Harvard Graduate School of Design

Rep. Albee Benitez met with Harvard Graduate School of Design professors Spela Videcnik, Gareth Doherty and Rok Oman this afternoon to discuss their shared interest in developing innovative solutions to the country's housing needs in the midst of rapid urbanization and its contradictions (urban poverty, informal settlements, traffic congestion).

The professors and their students are here in the Philippines to launch their "Manila: Future Habitations" project. A part of their Southeast Asia research studio program, the Manila Studio aims to come up with human settlement and urban designs to revitalize BASECO, the Port of Manila area and Intramuros.
