1st sugarcane expo slated in NegOcc

SENATOR Juan Edgardo Angara and Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol will lead the opening rites of the 1st Philippine Sugarcane Industry Mechanization Expo on March 12 at the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) office in Araneta Street, Bacolod City.
Themed "Increasing Productivity through Mechanization," the program organized by SRA will run until March 16.
In the five-day event, there will be product presentations of tractors, sugarcane harvesters, loaders and other farm implements and field demonstrations of farm machinery and other equipment.
On March 16, the business summit at SRA office was slated in the morning, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In the afternoon, Senator Cynthia Villar and Negros Occidental Third District Alfredo Benitez will lead the launching of the Sugarcane Industry Development Act Credit Program.
It will be followed by the Exhibitor's Night and closing rites.
The five-day exhibit from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. is open to the public. (MPE)
