Jesus Datoon; and Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca served on a panel during the recent consultation and dialogue in Talisay City on the Malogo River Irrigation Project.
Speculators say the project will benefit 8,625 hectares of irrigable area in both Silay City and EB Magalona with a diversion dam to be built in the city’s Barangay Kapitan Ramon.
The congressman said the project will boost agricultural productivity, mitigate flooding, provide a source of potable water, act as a power component, and develop eco-tourism.
Back in October 2016, Benitez conducted a scoping session on the said project at the Natalio Velez Sports and Cultural Center in Silay City.
The project was first conceptualized and proposed in 2014./WDJ
