Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya plans to open more economic growth areas in the city to complement the recent award of Bacolod as the Top Philippine Model City.
Gasataya said yesterday he together with Mayor Evelio Leonardia are working to implement the programs they promised.
“What we are trying to do now is to open new growth areas to ensure that the progress in the city is seen,” Gasataya said.
Out of 145 cities around the country, Bacolod City was named the Top Model City by the Manila Times.
He reported that the ongoing civil work for the construction of the 21.8-kilometer New Bacolod Economic Highway (Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road ll) in PurokProgreso, Barangay Sum-agis one of the projects that will help realize this plan.
Aside from this, he also added that they will also address basic problems on drainage and traffic in order to improve the condition of the people of Bacolod.
“We are working right now on maintaining sustainable programs implemented as well as to improve it further,” the congressman said, adding “these projects are for the people.”
In line with this plan, he and Rep. Albee Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) are now waiting for the result of the feasibility study of the Department of Public Works and Highways to further the proposed bill of creating a coastal road from Bacolod going to E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.*MLG
