Albee Turns Over AL-Boards to 21 Visayas Schools

Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo Benitez (3rd district) turned over 21 units of AL-Board (Alternative Learning Board) audio visual package to 21 more schools in the Visayas, including those in Iloilo, Guimaras, Bohol, Capiz, Cebu, Leyet and Southern Leyte, aside from Negros Occidental.
Benitez said he has expanded the project to other areas in the Visayas to improve the delivery of quality education, he said there is need for modern technology in terms of teaching-learning process.
The project is spearheaded by the congressman in behalf of the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation Inc. with the Pass It Forward Foundation, an Israeli non-government organization, and the Playtech Corporation.
The 21 Al-Boards amounting to P4.2 million, came from the Playtech Corporation, with 21 recipients identified by their respective congressmen, who are members of the Visayan bloc, he said.
He pointed out that the installation of the Alternative Learning Boards in many public elementary and high schools in the 3rd district, have already made positive impacts, with students learning from it able to win numerous awards from the Department of Education.
Benitez said that in order that schools can avail of more Al-Boards, the Pass It Forward Foundation is providing a website, that connects to the whole world, where they can request for donations.*(EYAdiong)
