1st Javi Benitez Run Beneficiaries Receive Medical Assistance
Fourteen-year-old Hannah Shane Suarez of Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay City is now recuperating after undergoing cardiac ligation of the artery and patch closure at the Philippine General Hospital – one of the beneficiaries of the 1st Javi Benitez Run dubbed Dalagan Para sa Kabataan held last August 13, 2016 in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Hannah Shane contracted pneumonia as an infant and was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. She was in and out of hospitals while growing up and needed to undergo pulmonary bypass as soon as possible.
Greening Of The 3rd District
Advocacy for environment protection through intensive tree-planting activities have become a convergence initiative in the Third District, as the Office of Cong. Albee spearheaded tree-growing projects all throughout his second term.
A total of 113,500 fruit-bearing, forest trees and bamboo seedlings procured with the assistance of the Department of Natural Resources (DENR) have been planted by volunteers from both the government and private sector, working side by side in upland barangays in Murcia, Talisay, Silay, E.B. Magalona and Victorias.
Sitio Ronil Farmers Association, and members of the EB Magalona PNP and the Gawahon Army Detachment Group were among the volunteers in the tree planting activity held in Sitio Ronil, Barangay San Isidro, EB Magalona. The office of Mayor Marvin Malacon provided assistance to the project. See gallery
Groundwork For Metro Third Unified Solid Waste Management Underway

A unified approach to finding solutions to the problem of solid waste disposal in the Third District of Negros Occidental will soon be a reality.

Congressman Alfredo Benitez led a meeting with all the mayors of the Third District and the Chief Executive Officer of the Sure Global W2Wi, Julia Boughton, to discuss results of a Waste Amount Characterization Survey and related analysis and assessment in the Third District and Bacolod City conducted in 2015, and a proposal on a unified solid waste management program.
