OUTGOING Negros Occidental Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez has accepted the offer of Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson to be his consultant for Trade and Investments Promotions.
Benitez has announced his decision to accept the offer during his State of the District Address Thursday, June 27, and right there, Lacson during his speech, revealed that he will ask his incoming Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz to immediately prepare the contract for Benitez.
Benitez is expected to bring in investors to the province to hasten more developments and progress.
Benitez has authored landmark legislations, one is the Sugarcane Industry Development Act, which is crucial to the sugar industry.
Lacson, meanwhile, has named the top three officials of his administration.
Aside from Diaz as provincial administrator, Lacson also named lawyer Alberto Nillas Jr. as provincial legal officer and Dr. Jonathan Lobaton as his chief-of-staff.
The incoming governor, however, has not named who will be his executive assistants and consultants.
Earlier, Lacson said he will keep his executive assistants and consultants to a minimum.
