Guv, Benitez laud Capgem

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) lauded the officers and members of the Capitol Government Employees Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative for the phenomenal growth of their coop, at their 30th general assembly at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City Saturday.

Marañon said the cooperative started with capital of P 13,462 30 years ago and today has grown into a P498 million venture.
Benitez said we cannot argue with success, it is a testimony to itself, that was achieved through proper management and hardwork.
He noted that the cooperative did not only rely on providing loans, but expanded its revenues with other ventures, such as providing janitorial services.
Benitez noted that the cooperative was founded during the time of then Governor Daniel Lacson Jr., who has always been a visionary beyond his time.
Benitez also lauded Marañon, whom he called a trailblazing governor, who has embraced the challenges of the future to ensure development for Negros Occidental.
The congressman said that when you discuss public service with Marañon, his ideas do not match his age, his ideas are those of a millennial.
CAPGEM is very fortunate to have a supportive governor, Benitez said.*
