Negros Occidental and Bacolod City officials held separate meetings with Converge ICT Solution founder and chief executive officer Dennis Anthony Uy to discuss the establishment of high-speed data communication links for a “smart” province and city.

Former Rep. Alfredo Benitez, provincial consultant on economic affairs, said the meeting of Uy with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Capitol in Bacolod, was to discuss a “digital revolution” in the province this year.

Former Rep. Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez said Saturday, January 30, that the complaint of the provincial government nurses on the downgrading of their positions has been elevated to the Office of the President and it is being acted on.

Benitez, provincial consultant on economic affairs, met with the nurses Saturday to listen to their concerns after a new Department of Budget and Management circular downgraded their positions.

COVID vaccines in Negros Occidental expected by February: Albee

Former Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said today, January 4, that he expects COVID-19 vaccines to be available in Negros Occidental by February.

Benitez is coordinating with Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., the country’s vaccine czar, and COVID-19 response chief implementer, for the purchase of the vaccines for Negros Occidental to augment those to be allocated by the national government.

The Negros Occidental provincial government is aiming to take over the management of its Negros First CyberCentre (NFCC) in Bacolod City by January 2021, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said today, December 7.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has designated a team headed by former Rep. Alfredo Benitez, to begin negotiations for its take over from the Negros Property Management and Development Corp. (NPMDC), Diaz said.
