The projected soft opening of the P600-million Magic Island theme park in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, is on the second quarter of next year, Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) said yesterday.
The rides will start to arrive in Negros early next week, said Benitez, who conducted a site inspection yesterday.
During its groundbreaking on April 2, 2017, Benitez had said they were hoping for its soft opening this year.
The 3.75-hectare theme park, designed to accommodate 3,000 visitors daily, will initially have 15 world class rides, he said.
The theme park is being built by Aton Land and Leisure Inc., owned by the congressman’s family.*
