Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday brushed aside a social media post showing some Love Negros members reportedly endorsing Rep. Alfredo Benitez to run for governor of Negros Occidental in the next year elections.
Stressing that he has no idea about the Facebook post, Lacson said he is aware that there are Love Negros members who are endorsing Benitez.
So, that is nothing new, Lacson said.
Benitez, who is now on his last term as congressman of the 3rd district of Negros Occidental, has yet to decide on whether to run for governor or senator, or quit from politics.
All the mayors of the 3rd district of Negros Occidental are pushing Benitez to run for governor.
Lacson said he will just wait for the decision of Benitez. “We all know him to be very formal. He will make that announcement in a proper forum,” he said, apparently referring to Benitez.
He added that he was with Benitez, who did not mention anything to him.
Lacson has previously admitted that he is open for the position of governor of Negros Occidental, in next year elections.*GPB
