Sugar block farming introduced to Sto. Niño farmers

SMALL sugarcane farmers who are members of the Sto. Niño-Balili Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association in Barangay Sto. Niño in E.B. Magalona were recently given an orientation on the Sugarcane Industry Development Act (Sida), specifically on the block farming concept and the socialized credit program.
The orientation was facilitated by the district office of Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform and the Sugar Regulatory Administration.
Briefings were conducted by DAR’s Joemel Magno and SRA’s Sarlin Joy Lapore.
The farmer-members were then assisted on how to avail of benefits from the Socialized Credit Program of the Sida. (PR)
