Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) said he believes a lot of congressmen will support the creation of a Negrosanon Federated Region (NFR), under the proposed federal system of government.

Five members of the Consultative Committee (ConCom) tasked to study the 1987 Constitution by President Rodrigo Duterte, joined a symposium on federalization in Bacolod City Friday where officials of Negros Island united in calling for the NFR.

The ConCom has included in discussions the creation of the NFR, composed of Negros Occidental and Oriental, as a 17th federated region of the country. *CPG
