EBM Sida block farms reviewed

Members of the Sitio Calaptan, Sta. Ana, Ascalon Farmers Association (SCSAFA) the pilot sugarcane block farming project under the Sugarcane Industry Development Act (Sida) located in Barangay San Isidro in E. B. Magalona recently gathered for an updating of projects facilitated by the Sugar Regulatory Administration (DRA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform through the efforts of Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez.

The 47 member-farmers were led by chairman Reynaldo Demecino and assisted by San Isidro Punong Barangay Ronnie Loro.
A review of the package of services and projects benefitting the farmers who are agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) and certification of land ownership award (Cloa) holders, as well as an updating of the project status was led by DAR-Sida block farm coordinator Joemel Magno and SRA block farm coordinator for northern Negros Louie Gamboa.
Also present during the meeting are representatives from the district office – executive assistant Paz Marie Valenciano, EBM coordinator Allana Montepio, and Team Benitez communication head Laarni Aguilar. The assembly was assisted by E.B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon. (PR)
