KABANKALAN CITY - The Negros Occidental provincial government, through its Comprehensive Health Program, has spent P134.2 million for medicines and hospital expenses of 250,987 patients, who are beneficiaries of the program, as of May 31, this year, its reports show.

Talisay City and Murcia town split top honors in volleyball during the championship round of the 3rd Albee Cup Inter-LGU Sportsfest held in Victorias City during the weekend.

It was a heartbreaking weekend for the E.B. Magalona spikers as its men’s volleyball team bowed to Talisay in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14, while its lady spikers yielded to Murcia in a five-set thriller, 25-27, 25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 13-15.

Murcia placed third in the men’s group by beating Victorias, 31-29, 25-12, while Silay won the battle for third in the women’s department also against Victorias, 25-14, 25-10.

Top-ranked Talisay City men’s spikers and Murcia’s volleybelles won the titles of Albee Cup volleyball tournament on Sunday in Victorias City.

The Talisaynons swept EB Magalona in three sets with 25-17, 25-17, 25-14; while Murcia placed third with a 31-29, 25-12 victory over Victorias.

Murcia lady spikers snatched the title via a 27-25, 20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-13 hard fought battle going to the distance. Silay City grabbed the third spot with a 25-14, 25-10 domination of Victorias.

TOP-RANKED Talisay City beat host Victorias City, 25-11; 27-25 and Murcia did the same in three sets over Victorias distaff side on Saturday, June 24, in the semifinals of Albee Cup volleyball tournament.

E.B. Magalona proved steadier as its men’s squad mauled Murcia, 17-25; 25-19; 25-17 and its women’s side stopped Silay City, 25-11; 25-19 to figure in the championship in both categories.

3rd Albee Cup Talisay City Leads Men’s Basketball, EB Magalona Ahead In Ladies’ Volleyball

Following the conclusion of the fourth week of the ongoing Albee Cup, most recently hosted by the municipality of EB Magalona, the host city finds themselves ahead of the pack in ladies’ volleyball, while Talisay City leads in men’s basketball.

EB Magalona beat Victorias City in ladies’ volleyball. The latter followed up the loss with a win over Silay City. On the men’s side, Silay City lost to both EB Magalona and Talisay City.
